i'm a lucky gal...

i get to spend my evening with these guys:

and while we were having a tasty chicharrone snack
in the yard this afternoon, we noticed bombay REALLY
likes fried porkness... surprising? i think not. he
has good taste~ he knows el modelo rocks this mutha.

oh, and is this good luck?:

or is it only if a bird shits on your head?
i forget.

and in case you can't tell, my bird had mulberries for lunch.

I...

am so tired.

i almost mispelled tired.

anyhow... very sleepy.
craig made us (YUMMY!) steaks for dinner.

he's been so sweet the past few days; i'm
very lucky... i know this.

tomorrow: sex(WHAT? it helps me stay calm)+coffee+
crafty set-up-ness++5hrs. of crafty madness=NAP...
many hours of napping if it's up to me.

now=sleep.

peace.

Happy Monday!

well it is for me... i have the day off, yay!

not much going on, took some photos yesterday:

TTV Style, mixed in w/ a little photoshop help.

I like them... even the last one which had such
great potential. The turn out was less than perfect.
But, it's mine and I like it.

I Do What I Want

he sure does.

I love long weekends...

and i love sleeping in.

we've been taking it easy
this weekend... not a lot
going on and that's how i
like it.

yesterday i made bbq pork
sandwiches and potato salad
for dinner, chocolate cake
for dessert. craig worked on
a house project most of the
day, so in the evening we
watched a movie, Before the
Devil Knows You're Dead
. It
was really good and I totally
like Phillip Seymour Hoffman,
but I don't like seeing him do the
*sexy times*... which he does in
the movie. Other than that, it was
very entertaining.

this morning, we puttered around
the house and had coffee and toast
and had trouble deciding on future
band names. The contenders were:
War Victim or Wounded Soldier.
In the end, War Victim won because
we decided that it was "sicker" than
Wounded Soldier. And Wounded
Soldier
sounds too much like a christian
rock band. Or something.

Later we plan on walking the pug and
then taking a romantic bicycle ride thru
our neighborhood. And french fries and
gravy was also a topic of conversation...
that should be good and fun.

FLASHBACK!!!

This morning while lying in bed with my 2
favorites, the subject of Garbage Pail Kids
came up... did you have any?

here's a little reminder of their awesomeness:

you can make your very own here!

OR you can be an adult and work or something.

Yay! I'm It!

I was tagged by Chefs Widow... she's so fly.

here are the rules:

Once you’ve been tagged, you have to write a
blog with 10 weird, random, facts, habits or goals
about yourself. At the end, choose 6 people to be
tagged, list their names & why you tagged them.
Don’t forget to leave them a comment saying “You’re it!”
& to go read your blog. You cannot tag the person
that tagged you, so since you’re not allowed to tag
me back; let me know when you are done so I can
go read YOUR weird- random-odd facts, habits and goals.

1.) I have an insatiable craving for nachos. I mean
like all the time. I think about ways I could get them
and when I don't, I'm usually a grumpy biotch. What?
Can't a girl like cheese and chips and jalepenos?

2.) I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE music and I sing along to
every song I know. Most of the time I choose an artist
and obsess over them, wishing they'd be my best friend
(or LOVER) and then I move on to the next lucky duck.

3.) I'd LOVE to be a found object artist. I love the idea
of creating random stuff with other random stuff and I
could do it all the live long day. Lately, I've been lucky
to have time to try this and IT IS FUN! Granted, I'm
starting with small things, but I's gots to start somewhere!

4.) I'm naturally a brown haired girl... and I'm toying
with the idea of going back to brown instead of my current
black head of hair. It's a pain though because I don't want
to be the girl with brown roots and black hair. Uh, no.

5.) I love tall manly men. oh, yeah.

6.) When I went to Mardi Gras when I was 19, I made
out with soooo many guys. And I earned soooo many
beads. I had like 3 or 4 bags full, and they were the good
ones, not the crappy free ones in the gutters. (probably
shouldn't be sharing this, but you didn't know that about
me, now did you?)

7.) I hate talking on the phone!
No offense to all my peeps, I just hate it.

8.) I have weird personal temperature issues. When I
get hot, I get really hot and sweaty (ew!) and when I'm
cold, I shiver like an old vejita. Maybe I'm going through
early menopause or something, but it sucks!

9.) I have freakishly strong hands... like CRUSH YOU
hands. For real.

10.) Even though I may seem a little on the tough
side, I cry easily over things that are sweet, sentimental
or just damn cute.

ok, so the luckies I'm tagging are:

Fly In My Mint Julep because she's my
favorite LA/NM blogger and I love visiting
her site daily.

Green Eyed Muse because she seems like
a loverl gal and I'd love to hear some random
stuff about her!

Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid because
I LOVE this girl's writing. And she's brutally
honest, which I also love about her site.

Ba-Rou is the New Brooklyn because her
writing is awesome and she's flippin' hilarious!
And I love living vicariously in the south
through her blog.

Bee-Spot because this gal has excellent taste
in music and if I lived in OK. I'd make her go
to all sorts of fun rock shows with me.

Hula Seventy because we a.)share the same
name and b.) she's a fabulous photographer/
artist/mama which I love.

Now, I know a lot of these peeps are busy and
may not get to play along, but if you do, be sure
to let me know... I want to know all your secrets!
Or at least the ones you're willing to spill.

Damn, It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta

~Geto Boys

Whew. I sure am happy it's the weekend!

Craig and I are having a loverly little
date night this evening and I'm so looking
forward to it. Not sure what we're doing,
don't really care, just excited to spend
an entire evening together! Naughtiness
is inevitable.

Tomorrow we are going to a mantanza at a
friend of Craig's and we're both really excited!
I've been to luau's before so I know they're
very similar, just super happy to be going to
a party designated to eating a slaughtered pig!
I'll be sure to post some pics if possible!

oh yeah

some favorites...

beans. yum.

bike date. sweet.

planting. front yard style.

Las Mananitas

"Estas son Las Mananitas
Que cantaba el Rey David
Hoy por ser dia de tu santo
Te las cantamos a ti

Despierta mi bien, despierta
Mira que ya amanecio
Y los pajarillos cantan
La luna ya se metio

Que linda esta la manana
En que vengo a saludarte
Venimos todos con gusto
Y placer a felicitarte

El dia en que tu naciste
Nacieron todas las flores
Y en la plia del bautismo
Cantaron los ruisenoreas

Ya viene amaneciendo
Ya la luz del dia nos vio
Levantate de manana
Mira que ya amanecio"

I heard this song this afternoon in the
car and it made me think of my grandma
Elsie... she loved this song when I was
little. It was really nice hearing it again!

yellow, red & orange

and another green.

Howdy Kids!

I've been slacking on color week, but only because
I've been super busy. I'll probably post some colors
later on today if I get a chance.

Craig and I had early bird dinner last night at
Padilla's and hit up the Sunflower Market after
for some necessities. We then rode our bikes to
UNM for some personal business. T'was a loverly
day and my skirt this week wasn't nearly as short as
last week so not too many strangers were given free
peeks of my "nether region". I'm slow, but learning.

Then, last night after ANTM (go Whitney!), Craig
had some homework to do so I watched Atonement
and I liked it. Or James McAvoy, rather.

Thursday telly is my fave night to veg out
with my pals from 30 Rock and the Office.

Tonight is also my night to cook dinner so
I think I'll make some quesadillas with a
gooey cheese, chicken and carmelized onions.
And a salad... with apples, nuts and more
cheese. MMMM, chhese.

(yes, that's my big-ass thumb.)
