Upcoming Rock Shows...
Although I used to be a little party animal,
I rarely go out anymore. But, if there is a
good show, I try to get out to support the
musicians and shake my ass. In the next few
weeks, there are a few kick-ass shows I'd like
to hit up. Yes, I've seen all of them before,
but that's how I KNOW they'll rock out!

More good fud.
Here are a few photos of some good food
eaten in the last few weeks.
The corned beef hash+poached eggs are from
my favorite restaurant in Santa Fe, Cafe Pasqual's.
They use Niman Ranch beef- corn it and prepare it
with green onions and potatoes. It was delicious!
The calamari was from Graze, and it was very tasty.
I've never had chick peas flashed fried before, but it
was a nice surprise. The scallop- came out blurry-
was also pretty good. But, by the time it came to the
table we were stuffed from the salad, cheese platter
and calamari, we were only able to eat half of what was
served. Bombs lucked out and had scallops for dinner
as well. Yes, his breath smelled of trash AND fish that
evening.

Turkey Day!
Today went well. Turkey was yummy, no major
disasters, clean up was easy. I was up at 7am or so
and pulled the turkey out of the brine- I ended up
using s+p, brown sugar, apple juice, rosemary,
lemon and ice h2o- cleaned it up and threw her in
the oven. It took about 4 1/2 hrs. or so, but in that
time I took care of all the sides. I also basted the bird w/
an apple, sage, shallot + cider vinegar "glaze". We had mashed
potatoes w/ cream and butter, green beans w/ bacon+
shallots, jalepeno cornbread, stuffing, sweet potatoes w/ mallows,
and delicious sage gravy made by Craig. I also made some
stuffed mushrooms w/ italian breadcrumbs, garlic, parsley,
o.oil + parm/romano cheese. I have to say, they were
pretty tasty. I made a few pumpkin pies as well--we've
yet to try them. They do smell delicious though.
As for the rest of the afternoon, I'm thinking a nap and some
horribly awesome reality t.v., cheesey t.v. movies and some
Grey's Anatomy later. WOO-HOO, time to relax!

Brine time...
YAY! Thanksgiving is a day away and I am thrilled!
I'll be cooking a bird and all the fixings and
I cannot wait! I'm going to brine our bird overnite--
that thing is going to be JUICY! I'm thinking I'll
use a salt, water and brown sugar solution, maybe
some lemon and herbs. There are a ton of combinations
to use, but Craig thinks simpler may be better. So, I
may just use salt + water + sugar combo. I will
definitely post some pictures and let everyone
know how things turn out. Also, suggestions
are surely welcomed!

Monkey Bread
This is Monkey Bread. It is a buttery, gooey dessert Angus
and I made this weekend. Super easy and super delicious.
If anyone has ever had a Frontier sweet roll, it's sort
of the same-- except in the shape of balls. I know,
they SHOULD be called 'Monkey Balls'--
that's what they look like--but it's not!

A. N. T. M. / TOP CHEF
I'll be watching the new 'America's Next Top Model'
episode tonight, is anyone else? In the beginning
I wasn't feeling Melrose, but she's starting to grow
on me. I think her bossy, know-it-all attitude is
pretty hilarious. I'm also digging Carridee-- she's
super funny and super cute! Yes, this is my priority
of the evening.
I'll also be watching 'Top Chef' tonight. I like
Marcel-- he's a cocky little bastard, but it's fun to
see all of the contestants create delicious and disgusting
dishes.

PUGTOBERFEST 2006
HAWAII 2006
I just recently returned from a trip to Hawaii for work. Although we worked really hard, there was enough time to play in the evenings. There are tons of beatiful places on the islands to see, my favorite being the Waikoloa area on the big island of Hawaii.
There I came across some AWESOME sea turtles and a really cool gecko.
