Pugtoberfest 2007

Bombay was a Jedi this year... he pissed on his costume
before I was able to get a decent shot of him, so once that
dries, I 'll put it back on him and snap some photos.

We did, however. get to take a ton of pics of all the pugs
at the pug party and THEY. WERE. ADORABLE.

Spotted,

today at lunch while Craig and I enjoyed our
burger special (grilled burger w/ bbq sauce, 1000 island
dressing, onions + cheese w/ salad & western style
hashbrowns...yum) at The Frontier today:

oh. and there was a wedding party @ lunch...
only in New Mexico.

Knock Loud

some favorites...

666 - the sign of the beast(s)...

yum.

anxious before all the rocking out...

craig making prickly pear butter... he took the last shot.

halloween in our front yard... coming soon!

Knock loud, I'm home
Just sleeping to pass the time
Wondering if you'll come by to visit me

Ten years have passed
Since you walked out of my life
But late last night in the pharmacy
You were in the line in front of me
So I ran away to hide

Knock loud I'm home
I wrote in black felt pen
Took that sign and taped it to the door

If you come in
To see how I have been
Make sure the door is closed behind you

Stand above me
While I poised do plunge
Through my heart attack
Kills the worst of me
Said I was sorry
Drink to forgive
I wake up alone
Knock loud I'm home

Watch this and Eat this:

Knocked Up... freakin' hilarious.

sooo yummy:

homemade posole w/ oregano, onions and lime.

Kissing the Lipless

Of course we had a great time at the Shins show
and while sounding just fabulous, they played all
my favorite songs! Craig and I sat sweetly in awe
while they just rocked the place. It was soooo nice
of **** to hook us up w/ tickets even though he's a
flippin' rock star! Thank you baby for taking me on
one fun ass date!

here's some of the playlist that i remember:

Know Your Onion
Kissing the Lipless
One by One All Day
Sea Legs
Pressed in a Book
Young Pilgrams
Caring is Creepy
New Slang (overplayed but AMAZING live!)
Phantom Limb
Girl Inform Me

i know there were more, these are all i remember.

here's a video for your viewing pleasure:

New Reads

I love Anthony Bourdain...then again, who doesn't?

I was given Kitchen Confidential
and A Cook's Tour by my lover
just yesterday and I am already half
way through Kitchen...
and I honestly don't want to finish it -
it's so damn funny and entertaining!
I love his way of writing, so descriptive
and hilarious, a lot of times even raunchy,
but very heartfelt and always honest.

Pick any of these up if you get a chance!

After these, I really want to read The Nasty Bits as
I cannot get enough of Tony and his fabulous writing.

“Oh my God, that was a religious experience ...
In the words of Homer Simpson, the pig is a magical animal.”

Albuquerque Grecian Festival

Waking up today was great... not only did
I find out we'd be be attending the ever
so popular Shin's homecoming show, I
also realized today was also the day we'd be
attending the 31st annual Grecian Festival here
in Albuquerque.

Aside from the amazing art, music and entertainment, there
was a ton of delicious food. And jumping thingies for Angus.
I can honestly say we all had a great day!

HELL. YEAH.

Sweets and I are going to a rock show on Wednesday...

the Shins, bitch.

Oh, don't worry... you'll hear all about it.

For Those About to Sleep...

we salute you.

¡ ai, yi, yi ! sopas and enchiladas...

last night, with the help of this:

i was able to try...

and make these.

they looked nothing like regular sopaipillas, but
not bad for a first timer. and from a package.
i'll try again sometime... and maybe from scratch.

we also had some cheesy-ass enchiladas.

topped off with a fried-ass egg.

yes, i know. this is a totally fattening meal.
worth every frickin' calorie, though.

It's Wednesday, Stay Gold

Seize upon that moment long ago
One breath away and there you will be
So young and carefree
Again you will see
That place in time...so gold

Steal away into that way back when
You thought that all would last forever
But like the weather
Nothing can ever...and be in time
Stay gold

But can it be
When we can see
So vividly
A memory
And yes you say
So must the day
Too, fade away
And leave a ray of sun
So gold

Life is but a twinkling of an eye
Yet filled with sorrow and compassion
though not imagined
All things that happen
Will age too old
Though gold...

This Wednesday...

I know where I'll be...

here, eating my body weight in fry bread,
posole and indian tacos with my baby.
