Lola for you!

Here is sweet Lola... she is also crazy.

Good crazy, though.

She has amazing amounts of non-stop energy...
we like to joke (totally serious) that she is
the most fit person in our household. Non-stop.

We sure do love her.

She seems sad in her photos, but trust... she is not!
I will try to take a pic of her on a walk... she
jumps (as high as me, I'm 5'6"), yelps with delight and
wags her tail to the point that it gets painful if she
whacks you with it enough times.

Love that Lola!

Hello, Hello!

I got home from my work trip to Oahu
on Sunday and headed to the Frontier
so I could stuff my face with this:
I know.
Then later that evening I had Thai food
with the boys and was in a state of euphoria.
The next morning, I saw God.

ANYHOO...
I can't sleep on red-eyes because my ass
goes numb and that's a very uncomfortable
way to sleep, so I watched the in-flight flick,
Ghost Town, with the Office creator/genius,Ricky Gervais.
Check it out... although it's very predictable,
it's cute and witty. And Kristen Wiig's also in it.

I had a great time on my work trip.
I ate a lot (as always), worked, sang
@ Karaoke, saw sweet dolphins up close,
witnessed locals gutting fresh fish(2 diff
occasions!),took pictures like a tourist
and enjoyed the time away from the office.
It always helps when I get to travel with
a really nice girl who, although not nearly
as...bitchy(??) as I, can always join in on
the eye-rolling and shit talking that is,
lets face it, inevitable. Here are some pics
from the short week away:
the best shrimp truck on the island...
i ate ALL that shrimp and loved it.

...cute dolphin and beautiful Diamond Head...

... cook your own steak...
while enjoying one of the best. songs. ever.

then rock the house with a classic, "You Ain't Woman Enough".

me being tourist-y.

more later, gotta eat some Onion Soup.

also, one of our chickens, Hazel, is laying
mad amounts of eggs, 4 days in a row, but
that's a whole other post... stay tuned, chickenheads!

random stuff-ness.

Yesterday afternoon Craig and I rode our bikes
all over the neighborhood and it was so much fun.
We rode (all over) to CNM to vote, to the Coop for
some cheese and veggies, and to the Smith's to get
stuff for soups. And to see all the crazies that seem
to be attracted to that place. Like flies on shit.

Seriously.

We also had delicious Il Vicino for dinner...
I had a pizza(carmelized onions, portobellos, capicolla
ham, goat cheese, hot oil and rosemary) and Craig had a
salad(greens, artichoke hearts, gorgonzola, walnuts, egg,
tomato, and chicken). It was good. So good. Of course
we shared... and by share, I mean I ate almost all of my
pizza and a lot of Sweets' salad.

We also got to watch Weeds: season 3, disc 1
and it was mighty exciting! I'm looking forward
to watching more this evening. Gosh, I aspire to
look as hot as Nancy Botwin when I'm her age...
I should put the pizza down, yes?

Damn, It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta

~Geto Boys

Whew. I sure am happy it's the weekend!

Craig and I are having a loverly little
date night this evening and I'm so looking
forward to it. Not sure what we're doing,
don't really care, just excited to spend
an entire evening together! Naughtiness
is inevitable.

Tomorrow we are going to a mantanza at a
friend of Craig's and we're both really excited!
I've been to luau's before so I know they're
very similar, just super happy to be going to
a party designated to eating a slaughtered pig!
I'll be sure to post some pics if possible!

Sundays on Central

Today after Angus's soccer game we
headed over to Loyola's on Central...

for some delicious breakfast.

It's also near the Desert Sands Motel...

also seen in No Country For Old Men as the motel
in El Paso... I was hoping that I'd find Javier Bardem
behind this door:

No such luck.

Chicken-Heads of the World ~ UNITE!

Here are some sweet chicken shots that I'm
awfully proud of. Craig was chicken-sitting
for a friend, so I decided to help him feed
the girls. My favorite one is the blackie...
I think she's a vixen like myself.

It's Me Again.

Who would've thought I like talking about myself so much?
Oh, yeah, this blog is about ME! ME! ME! and mi vida.

The Sweetness in my life has been working so hard
in the yard, what with like 50 gardens and what not.
I love watching him work, he is so excited and devoted
to growing us delicious goodies like this:

I help a little when I can, but there's no denying,
he does all the grunt work. Love you baby!

On Saturday, we made some more cinnamon rolls and
I've been stuffing my face with them...
I. can't. help. myself.

Oh, yeah... have you seen 30 Days of Night?
It's pretty entertaining if you're into blood sucking,
crazy screeching vampiros. But, be prepared... Our hero
dies (burns, whatever...) in the end and it's sad!

Wednesday I'm meeting with some gals from Duke City Fix to
talk crafts and a possible craft show... looking forward to
that! I have all sorts of ideas and it'll be great discussing
things like glitter and coasters and knitting and art... things
that Craig is sweet enough to pretend to care about. Any ABQer's
free @ 6p, head over to N'tl Atomic Museum and join us!

It's my turn to cook dinner tonight, what should I make?

***Anonomys reader... why are you blocking your location and
IP address? This is an Equal Opportunity Blog, HOLLA!
Quit being so mysterio!

Busy

crazy busy weekend so far...

Friday night, Craig and I watched
No Country For Old Men and,
omg, it was in-fucking-tense! Great
story, beautiful scenery (NM is gorgeous!)
and fabulous actors made for a very
entertaining flick. And any ladies-
or men, interested in seeing Javier
Bardem in the buff, email me and I'll
forward you the link. I could just link
it now, but then that'd make me
a little tart, now wouldn't it?

Saturday, Craig and Joffe started working
on our infamously un-finished bathroom and
I made enchiladas like nobody's business. I
made a red casserole with beef and onions and
a green casserole with chicken and cheese. The
green is my sister Lyd's recipe and it was a
huge hit here @ our place... thanks, Lyd!
Cheese and onions for days, yo.

and beans, of course.

Here's a pretty shot:

and a few cute ones:

now, I gotta go hold Bombay, the wind
frightens him.

Whew, It's Almost Over!

the work week, that is.

Talked with my girl, Amanda yesterday and happy
to hear she'll be in NM in April... party time!

Went running again yesterday while Craig and
our cool friend , Joffe, talked bathrooms (ours
in particular) and showers and stuff. They will
be (woo-hoo!) finishing the project we started
last year and I couldn't be happier! And yes, our
bathroom was partially un-finished all year, get
over it... we can't all be perfect!

Made some pesto and pasta for dinner and also
had some delish Onion soup Craig made so damn
perfectly.

Today, I laughed at comments Rachael left me on
the old blog-- love that girl!

Also, I caught up on one of my fave sites, Stuff White
People Like
and did a little work while anticipating
tonights new episode of America's Next Top Model...
my fave this cycle so far is Amis. She's cute and quirky.
And I'm sorry, but Fatima is a bitch.

Now, I'm patiently waiting for my lunch break so I
can grab a ginger ale and get some sun!

How's your day going so far?

"Evil home stereo, what good songs do you know?
Evil me, oh yeah I know, what good curves can you throw?

Well all that icing and all that cake,
I can't make it to your wedding, but I'm sure I'll be at your wake.
You were talk, talk, talk, talkin' in circles that day,
when you get to the point make sure that I'm still awake, OK?"

More Flicks For You

to see if you haven't already:

the Last King of Scotland, which was flippin' intense
and insanely good. Craig and I had both been wanting
to see this for a while and I'm gad we did.

And the other flick we started (it's 3 1/2 hrs.) was:
Bloodied but Unbowed: Bloodshot Records Life in the Trenches
which was also very entertaining as it has a ton
of my fave artists like Ryan Adams, Neko Case and
Old 97's. Check this one out if you like you some music.

Hooray, Hooray!

thats right, it's Friday and it's girl's night out..

A long week, cramps, and a boyfriend who doesn't
always understand my weird-ass feelings makes for
a much deserved night out with the gals!

Happy Friday to all yous!

I'll Put That Cigarette Out...

in your flippin' eye!

The idiot that sat next to me and
complained that my lotion "made him
unable to breathe" no longer sits next
to me and that makes me happy. I totally
understand that certain people have
issues with certain scents, but where
the hell do you get off asking me to
refrain from wearing said lotion so
you can breathe easier? It's not as if
it's the late 90's and I'm still rocking
the infamous stripper scent of vanilla or
anything like that. And how is it the smoke
from your 20 or so breaks a day doesn't seem
to bother you, funny that LOTION does...?

Damn idiot... mix in a facial for those pores!
