Happy Holidays!

Yup, it's that time of year again. Already?!

Thanksgiving was nice this year... we hosted
a huge meal for about 12 of our friends and
2 dogs (4 dogs total, running in and out of the
house, barking and what not). It was actually
NOT as stressful as I anticipated. Craig and I
did all the shopping a few days prior and prepped
as much as possible beforehand. Sooo, on the
day of feasting, we got to sleep in a little then
get everything ready in a relaxed manner. And,
we got to have some adult concoctions whilst
doing so, laughing AND kissing the whole time.
Then, after everyone helped with the clean-up,
packed up their to-go plates and said their
goodbyes, I got to hit the sack early.

It was awesome.

bacon wrapped dates on my celery stalk plate...
some of my best pals, cheesez....

Craig and our stalk of brussels sprouts...

Little tiny Lea's huge plate of food...

I was also gifted the most amazing bird house (that will never
make it outside because it's so incredible, I'm not letting ANY
bird shit all over it) by our dear friend Joffe. It really does deserve
it's own post, but here is a blurry pic of the inside...

Say Cheese!

So, believe it or not, the time of year to take our Holiday
Family Photo is just around the corner.  For the past few
years, we have strived to send out original, yet fun cards
to our friends and family during the holiday season... just
to let them all know we're thinking of them. Here are a
few photos we've used on past cards... what do you think?

As you can see, we love to include our animals in our photos.
I guess we're sentimental like that. Or just plain bat-shit crazy.
You know, we're all a little crazy, right. Right?

But I digress.

Anyhow, this year I decided to try out Shutterfly for our family's
photo needs. I like that they have a number of options to choose
from...I like choice. And, if you plan on having a holiday shindig,
you can also choose from their selection of invitations.  I've been
perusing through the cards all afternoon, trying to decide on this
years big winner. Still haven't made the final decision, but I'll
be sure to share it with you!

If you're interested in receiving a good chunk of
free holiday cards of your own, go here.
That's right, free.

Ash from Army of Darkness... or is it?

Angus was Ash   from Army of Darkness for Halloween
this year... he made his decision early on and executed
it like a champ! Here are some pics of his obscure but
awesome choice of costume:

and if you're curious, this is the REAL Ash:

Hey Everybody!

Long time, no blog!

Hope you're well!

I've been up to a few things...
some exciting, some not so much.
Eh, such is life.

As I mentioned a while back, I dropped my
camera and have been using a loner (a BRICK!)
digital for important stuff. I want a new one,
preferably a DSLR, but we'll see when THAT
happens. Need some cash money, yo.

Anyhoo, I've been taking pics with my
old pal, Holga. It's been too long and it's
really nice to have her back in my life.
Stay tuned for some new shots.

I got to visit with some great friends this
past weekend. Amanda, Michell, Cara and Lori.
It was a blast to catch up and just be a girl!
We had a great time, may post a few blurry
pics soon!

Been enjoying the heck out of this gal:

Lola is a sweet thang! We really love her!

Bombay and the chickens are still around,
raising hell and whatnot.

And most recently, I was lucky enough to get a
Lambretta of my very own! That's right, I will be
riding around the 505 this spring, summer
and fall. Mine is a LI 125 Series 3, like this:

I'm really excited!
Honk if you see me!

'T' like the letter... not the hot beverage.

Have you seen United States of Tara yet?

I got hooked (guess you can call me a hooker?!) on this
series, 1/2 of the first season, a few weeks back. I can't
wait to see the the 2nd half.

Check it out!

Julie & Julia

As someone who enjoys cooking and learning about
food and of course eating, I was thrilled to see two
great actresses in a great movie.

We've all seen  Julia Child cooking shows growing up,
but it was really nice to "see" her in her earlier years,
the relationship she shared with her husband and her
naughty sense of humor that I had no idea she had.

The movie introduced me to the blog, the Julie/Julia Project
the inspiration for the movie... and it's some good, fun
reading!

and oh yeah, I want this.

Fair Day!

ferris

Woo-hoo, we're going to the State Fair this weekend!
What does that entail? A little of this:

1. People watching... out-of-town visitors,carnies,
teenagers making out (ewww!).

2. Chile Relleno Dogs. (Exactly what they sound like:
a green chile stuffed with cheese and a hotdog(!!!), battered
and fried, smothered in green chile.)

3. Aguas Frescas. I love to mix flavors.

4. Roasted Corn with lots of butter, s+p, lemon and cayenne
pepper.

5. Warm, sweet pecans!

6.  Livestock and exhibits... sooo many cool, cute, weird items
to enjoy!

(and yes, I probably can eat everything mentioned!)

Right On, it's finally fixed!

We finally got our sewing machine serviced
and it's working... woo-hoo! Picking it up in
a few hours, stay tuned for 1st time projects**
such as: APRONS, APRONS, APRONS!
And maybe some totes, too!

**NOT sure about pegged pants, though.

Sundays, Star Sightings and Scooters...

Sunday was Father's Day and we
celebrated by having lunch in Santa Fe
@ a favorite, Cafe Pasqual's. Anyone who's
ever been there knows there is ALWAYS a
wait, well worth it, and this Sunday was no
different. But, while we were waiting, I spotted
Hilary Swank! She was blonde and petite and
walking down the street, minding her own
business. It was actually really exciting!
She's a looker!

Another exciting thing coming up is the
Lambretta Scooter Rally, being hosted by my
Sweets and his friends. They have been working
so hard for months, but I think it's going to be
great fun and worth all the hard work. The guys will
also be in the paper on June 25th, I'll post a link or
something...In the meantime, here's a pic of the pinata,
not quite finished, that will be smashed to smithereens:

LOW

"Shawty had them apple bottom jeans (jeans)
Boots with the fur (with the fur)
The whole club was looking at her
She hit the floor (she hit the floor)
Next thing you know
Shawty got low, low, low, low, low, low, low, low
Them baggy sweat pants
And the Reebok's with the straps (with the straps)
She turned around and gave that big booty a smack (hey)
She hit the floor (she hit the floor)
Next thing you know

Gimme Some Sugar, Baby!

Yes, that's an actual line in Army of Darkness...
we watched it this weekend. I was a bit skeptical
