Happy Holidays!

Yup, it's that time of year again. Already?!

Thanksgiving was nice this year... we hosted
a huge meal for about 12 of our friends and
2 dogs (4 dogs total, running in and out of the
house, barking and what not). It was actually
NOT as stressful as I anticipated. Craig and I
did all the shopping a few days prior and prepped
as much as possible beforehand. Sooo, on the
day of feasting, we got to sleep in a little then
get everything ready in a relaxed manner. And,
we got to have some adult concoctions whilst
doing so, laughing AND kissing the whole time.
Then, after everyone helped with the clean-up,
packed up their to-go plates and said their
goodbyes, I got to hit the sack early.

It was awesome.

bacon wrapped dates on my celery stalk plate...
some of my best pals, cheesez....

Craig and our stalk of brussels sprouts...

Little tiny Lea's huge plate of food...

I was also gifted the most amazing bird house (that will never
make it outside because it's so incredible, I'm not letting ANY
bird shit all over it) by our dear friend Joffe. It really does deserve
it's own post, but here is a blurry pic of the inside...

tuesday rundown

hi there. it's been a week, A WHOLE WEEK, since
my last post. i've been lazy. and busy. and lazy.
that's a pic of me in case you forgot what i look like.

i did, however, have a really great 4th of july weekend
with my favorite guy. i love me some 3-day holiday
weekends...who doesn't? tell me so i can punch you.

on thursday we had a delightful dinner over at the world
famous (ok, south valley famous) monte carlo steakhouse
and it was awesome as always. i love walking into the
dark room with kitchy decor and drunken construction
workers enjoying a cold one at the bar. i also like how
they will stare me up and down like a piece of meat, even
though i'm CLEARLY with a handsome fella. it's okay,
craig doesn't mind... he knows i'm hot stuff.

on friday we had lunch at los cuates (don't even get me
started) and vowed not to go there for another year
or so. aside from their salty chips and sweet salsa,
it's nothing to write home about. since we were near
the sunflower market we stopped in and got some
fixings for a bbq over at our friend steve's place. it
was very mellow but a good time.

on saturday, we finished working on the chicken coop...
we had to add some netting to protect the girls from
predators. and we also added more poultry fencing as
the little brats (isotope and hazel) kept trying to
escape into bombay's yard. not a good idea for them
seeing as how bombs wants them BAD. anyhow, we
finished. thank god. then i was lucky enough to get
a ride with this guy on this:
that evening we watched a favorite around our
place lately, the wire. i love it. so does craig.

on sunday after angus was dropped off, the 3 of
us got in tamales and drove over yonder to the
corrales farmer's market and got 3 more chicks!
they are adorable and unique in their own way.
i will post some pics of them later, but the newest
members of the blanragg familia are (so cute!):

connie jr. the cuckoo maran.

blinky the ameraucana with green feet.

raquel the rhode island red.

very exciting...very!
here's isotope and hazel... they're growing fast!

and here's most of them chillin'...

and in honor of our new girls, i made us a yummy
ass brick chicken for dinner and we had some
greens from the garden with mashers...oh yeah.
craig (and angus too) desire the brick chicken
at least once a week, and although i love me
some crispy skin, it's a pain to make sometimes.
craig, though, is nice enough to cut the backbone
for me, i have issues with gagging if i think about
something too much, ie. raw chicken. he's just
so awesome like that.

last night we watched cloverfield... can you say
in-FUCKING-tense? i wasn't sure i'd like it, but it
was very entertaining and kept us on the edge of our
seats! i'd probably see it again... we'll see.

that's about it as far as my thrilling weekend goes.

what'd you do? was it soooo fun? or just bleh?

hazel is the one with some brown on
her little feathers and she's a langshan.
isotope and huevolina (lina) are jersey giants.
craig, angus and i are still learning about our
chickens, so i'll post more info as we learn!

Damn, It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta

~Geto Boys

Whew. I sure am happy it's the weekend!

Craig and I are having a loverly little
date night this evening and I'm so looking
forward to it. Not sure what we're doing,
don't really care, just excited to spend
an entire evening together! Naughtiness
is inevitable.

Tomorrow we are going to a mantanza at a
friend of Craig's and we're both really excited!
I've been to luau's before so I know they're
very similar, just super happy to be going to
a party designated to eating a slaughtered pig!
I'll be sure to post some pics if possible!

FRIDAY... i love you.

Crazy busy week, yes it's been insane.

Craig and I had some delicious El Patio for
our dinner last night. We early bird-ed it and
it was sooo good. I had the combo which consists
of enchiladas. 1 relleno and 1 taco, beans + rice.
Craig had huevos rancheros for dinner and we
both left very full and happy. Later, we watched
(for the 3rd time!) American Gangster and loved
it... again. We were also going to watch another
film, I Am Trying to Break Your Heart: a film
about Wilco
, but we were too sleepy after having
a snack of muffalettas, balsamic vinegar chips, a
(LARGE) cinnamon roll and all that lying around is
pretty draining too. Anyhoo, we slept like some lil'
piggies, all comfy and fat and shit.

Anyhow, work is insanely busy, I should get back to
it, but I'll leave you with another Holga shot:

Just Back Butterin'

is a term used in tiling and construction...
"Hey, man, I need some back butter NOW!
Keep it comin'... I need it all day long!"

(you had to be there.)

Anyhow, I had the day off so I got to sleep
in with the boys (my favorite thing to do!) and
then Craig and I drove up to East Central for
some delicious breakfast @ Perea's. The drive
to "that part of town" is always a blast as it
is the perfect area for some prime people watching.

We both had Huevos Rancheros.

And these are some shots, some played with,
of the drive back down East Central:

Then, upon return home, the 3 of us hopped back into
bed and took a nap for about an hour or so while listening
to re-runs of Craig's homies on the Don and Mike Show.
We woke up to Bombs flippin' out over the mail delivery.
At that point, we got up and had some tasty iced coffee
and did some chores. I got into some overalls and a
pink tee 'cause it was/is hot and Craig flirted with
me by saying I looked as though I was starring in a
porno 'cause of my outfit. Gosh, he's so frickin' sweet.

Now we're about to head out to the sto' fo' something
for supper. I really don't feel like cooking, so who
knows, we may have leftover pizza and a salad. We are
also going to watch World's Fastest Indian tonight, so
I'm looking forward to that. I love movie night with my
sweets.

As we say in these parts..laterzzz.

Busy

crazy busy weekend so far...

Friday night, Craig and I watched
No Country For Old Men and,
omg, it was in-fucking-tense! Great
story, beautiful scenery (NM is gorgeous!)
and fabulous actors made for a very
entertaining flick. And any ladies-
or men, interested in seeing Javier
Bardem in the buff, email me and I'll
forward you the link. I could just link
it now, but then that'd make me
a little tart, now wouldn't it?

Saturday, Craig and Joffe started working
on our infamously un-finished bathroom and
I made enchiladas like nobody's business. I
made a red casserole with beef and onions and
a green casserole with chicken and cheese. The
green is my sister Lyd's recipe and it was a
huge hit here @ our place... thanks, Lyd!
Cheese and onions for days, yo.

and beans, of course.

Here's a pretty shot:

and a few cute ones:

now, I gotta go hold Bombay, the wind
frightens him.

Whew, It's Almost Over!

the work week, that is.

Talked with my girl, Amanda yesterday and happy
to hear she'll be in NM in April... party time!

Went running again yesterday while Craig and
our cool friend , Joffe, talked bathrooms (ours
in particular) and showers and stuff. They will
be (woo-hoo!) finishing the project we started
last year and I couldn't be happier! And yes, our
bathroom was partially un-finished all year, get
over it... we can't all be perfect!

Made some pesto and pasta for dinner and also
had some delish Onion soup Craig made so damn
perfectly.

Today, I laughed at comments Rachael left me on
the old blog-- love that girl!

Also, I caught up on one of my fave sites, Stuff White
People Like
and did a little work while anticipating
tonights new episode of America's Next Top Model...
my fave this cycle so far is Amis. She's cute and quirky.
And I'm sorry, but Fatima is a bitch.

Now, I'm patiently waiting for my lunch break so I
can grab a ginger ale and get some sun!

How's your day going so far?

"Evil home stereo, what good songs do you know?
Evil me, oh yeah I know, what good curves can you throw?

Well all that icing and all that cake,
I can't make it to your wedding, but I'm sure I'll be at your wake.
You were talk, talk, talk, talkin' in circles that day,
when you get to the point make sure that I'm still awake, OK?"

Weekend Recap

I had a good time with the girls on Friday night... I love
talking shit and laughing and taking deer in headlights
photos.

Saturday, lots of layin' around... just how I like it. Craig
made us some delicious fried chicken, taters and veggies,
then we (craig, angus, me and bombs) watched a super
hilarious new Saturday Night Live with our girl Tina Fey.
Then, later in bed, after discussing politics and our world,
Craig and I made out like teenagers, dry humping and all...
it was AWESOME. You should try it (again), I highly, highly
recommend it.

Sunday, after sleeping in, the 3 of us had some eggs, bacon
and toast and hit the mall (uugghh, i hate the mall!) to get
Sweets some badly needed new jeans(he got the levi's 514's
and they make his ass look yum!). We had some lunch over
at the new Top Dog ( sauerkraut and spicy mustard for me)
and drove over to Central to take pics of this for Angus's Blog:

For dinner, we're having leftover chicken and this soup and
here are some shots of me making said soup:
yummy onions...

make me cry.

the almost finished product:

And now, while the soup is simmering and the boys
are playing some sort of video game, I'm also watching
the Oscars and diggin'on these people, 'cause they're
oh, so cool:

(photos of the celebs are obviously not mine)

And, of course, lots of this guy:
