Good Times

Craig and I were able to "go out" last weekend.
We took the bus down town, visited with some
old friends, and cabbed it back home. It was
a good time, indeed!

This is our good friend Gary Wayne!

Lola for you!

Here is sweet Lola... she is also crazy.

Good crazy, though.

She has amazing amounts of non-stop energy...
we like to joke (totally serious) that she is
the most fit person in our household. Non-stop.

We sure do love her.

She seems sad in her photos, but trust... she is not!
I will try to take a pic of her on a walk... she
jumps (as high as me, I'm 5'6"), yelps with delight and
wags her tail to the point that it gets painful if she
whacks you with it enough times.

Love that Lola!

Hi!

it's been quite a while since i've posted.

anything.

meaningful or not.

anyhoo, i miss the old blog so i thought i'd
drop the old gal a visit today. hi old gal!

life has been fine these last few months.
i have to say, not having a reliable camera
has been HELL. as i mentioned, we have a
loaner, but it requires batteries, ACTUAL
batteries, therefore weighing a damn ton
and making "spur of the moment" photos
a huge hassle. i feel like we are missing out
on photos of our pets being crazy/funny/cute/insane,
delicious meals grown, prepared and consumed,
me with my all natural brown hair, craig with out
his facial hair(he looks VERY handsome!), angus
almost as tall as me... all sorts of stuffz!

anyhoo, blah blah blah, until i have a camera
that doesn't weigh as much as a baby, enjoy
this pic taken with "the brick".

Sons of Anarchy

Found another GREAT television show
to get hooked on... Sons of Anarchy.

Heard about it from a friend (who is married
to an A.T.F. agent) and we marathon-ed it
this weekend. Can you say OMG!?

(you're welcome!)

Hey Everybody!

Long time, no blog!

Hope you're well!

I've been up to a few things...
some exciting, some not so much.
Eh, such is life.

As I mentioned a while back, I dropped my
camera and have been using a loner (a BRICK!)
digital for important stuff. I want a new one,
preferably a DSLR, but we'll see when THAT
happens. Need some cash money, yo.

Anyhoo, I've been taking pics with my
old pal, Holga. It's been too long and it's
really nice to have her back in my life.
Stay tuned for some new shots.

I got to visit with some great friends this
past weekend. Amanda, Michell, Cara and Lori.
It was a blast to catch up and just be a girl!
We had a great time, may post a few blurry
pics soon!

Been enjoying the heck out of this gal:

Lola is a sweet thang! We really love her!

Bombay and the chickens are still around,
raising hell and whatnot.

And most recently, I was lucky enough to get a
Lambretta of my very own! That's right, I will be
riding around the 505 this spring, summer
and fall. Mine is a LI 125 Series 3, like this:

I'm really excited!
Honk if you see me!

'T' like the letter... not the hot beverage.

Have you seen United States of Tara yet?

I got hooked (guess you can call me a hooker?!) on this
series, 1/2 of the first season, a few weeks back. I can't
wait to see the the 2nd half.

Check it out!

Happy New Year... like 2 weeks late!

Glad it's over... you?

We had a busy few weeks there for a while...

Finalgled our annual holiday family photo:

It was a trial because we had a loner camera (sadly, mine
was broken when I dropped it RIGHT on the lens) and had
to wrangle the chickens AND Bombay... we did it... yes we did.

We  got a new family member,Lola... very sweet
and lots of energy. We got super lucky with her!

Hope everyone had a lovely holiday season!

Julie & Julia

As someone who enjoys cooking and learning about
food and of course eating, I was thrilled to see two
great actresses in a great movie.

We've all seen  Julia Child cooking shows growing up,
but it was really nice to "see" her in her earlier years,
the relationship she shared with her husband and her
naughty sense of humor that I had no idea she had.

The movie introduced me to the blog, the Julie/Julia Project
the inspiration for the movie... and it's some good, fun
reading!

and oh yeah, I want this.

the Road

is the book I'm currently
reading and it's amazing.
I've been getting through it
as quickly as possible... I
NEED to know how it ends.

The movie version is coming out
soon... I think it's going to be good...
in the sense of casting. Alright, alright ~
I like Viggo Mortenson... who doesn't?

lovin' it...

i'm loving this time of year!

the changing of leaves...
the way night-time creeps up on us WAY early...
the endless amount of movie watching...
the fact that it's snuggie weather...

AAAND, it's almost time for thanksgiving!

i love thanksgiving because i get to cook for
myself and the boys... and they tell me how
delicious everything is and they clean up for
me while i nap... ahhh, looking forward to it!

hopefully soon.

until then, i will post some old
pics to remind me what a nice
friend that camera was to me.

Blast From the Past!

For some reason while I was driving to work this
morning, all I could think of was of being young and
starting schoolwhen the weather was changing from
summer to fall. I can remember waking up early
(I had to "do" my hair) and loving the crispness of
the morning and wondering how the day would turn
out. Depending on how much time I had left before I
needed to catch the bus, I'd do things like dance and
sing along Debbie Gibson  or practice my gymnastics.

Random. But good memories.

Here's a little list of favorite movies from back in the day:

1. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

2. Teen Witch

3. Dream a Little Dream OR anything with
the Coreys in it.

4. Can't Buy Me Love

5. Troop Beverly Hills

I really could list 1,000 more cheesey flicks...
but I won't. This is enough thought provoking
blogging for one day, yes?

Fair Day!

ferris

Woo-hoo, we're going to the State Fair this weekend!
What does that entail? A little of this:

1. People watching... out-of-town visitors,carnies,
teenagers making out (ewww!).

2. Chile Relleno Dogs. (Exactly what they sound like:
a green chile stuffed with cheese and a hotdog(!!!), battered
and fried, smothered in green chile.)

3. Aguas Frescas. I love to mix flavors.

4. Roasted Corn with lots of butter, s+p, lemon and cayenne
pepper.

5. Warm, sweet pecans!

6.  Livestock and exhibits... sooo many cool, cute, weird items
to enjoy!

(and yes, I probably can eat everything mentioned!)

Chocolate Stout Cakez...

I made this incredibly delicious cake this weekend... I have
to say it's the best dessert I've ever made. I mean EVER.

Photobucket

The photo does not do the cake justice, but I just wanted to
share a little bit of it's AWESOMENESS with you!
